This still life was created for my environment modeling class; which unlike what I thought as I registered, is not an organic modeling class. I had believed I’d be learning to create natural environments, but it ended up being a hard-surface modeling class. Even if it’s not what I thought, it’s been great practice for me.
The assignment lasted through the entire semester, and the goal was to create a photo-realistic scene that tells a story within its frame. I chose to pull from my own childhood and create a space for a child who does not enjoy doing her math homework, and spends her time drawing instead.
The models were all done in Maya, and the baking/texturing were made in Substance Painter, then rendered in Marmoset 3.
